A warm hello from Oribel

Hello Friends,

Thank you for visiting my blog. If you are looking for inspiration and empowerment you’ve come to the right place.

Apart from articles I've written based on my own personal experiences I have included suggested affirmations, intentions, prayers, visualizations, meditations, ideologies and a whole lot more. I have personally benefited from them - I gained more self-confidence, learned about self-love, self-acceptance and self-respect, overcoming fears created by years of conditionings, tackled self-doubt, self-worth and self-esteem issues. And I’m learning to trust myself more and more each day.

I invite you to open heart and empty your mind and pick any subject that you are drawn to. Take only the information that resonates with you and leave the rest behind as they are here for others. You see, each of us have different lessons to learn in this life. Much of which is to overcome different types of fears - fear of being lonely, fear of rejection, fear of failure, well you're getting the picture. And, hence, we need different tools in our lives as we seek to discover ourselves and to turn our challenges into life lessons. With self-knowledge comes true power.

And always know that you have much to give the world by just being you....the authentic you that is. And also remember that when you reach a higher truth be prepared to let go of older ones that no longer serve you. That's how we evolve and expand.

Happy journeys,
Oribel

Meditation

Anyone can meditate. And you don’t have to look at it as a spiritual activity. Look at it as a time to calm your mind and relax and shut out the external world from your consciousness for a while. So, the best way to approach meditation is with ease and treat it as a joyous escape, if you will.

Do not be concerned with the rules and guidelines that most meditation practitioners dictate as the “right approach”. That you meditate is more important than how you meditate. Closing your eyes and breathing deeply is one technique, as sitting in front of an altar is another or relaxing outdoors in company of nature is yet another.

Again, like I said, we all come from different backgrounds and different environments. So choose a technique that allows you to be alone without being disturbed for 10-15 minutes. And in this stillness, you are connected to your inner being or “heavenly home” as the angels call it. It’s like hooking up to a fuel station, where you’re filled with energy, ideas and tranquillity.

The words meditate and medicate share the same root for good reason, since they’re both approaches to health. Meditation is your free and portable healing agent whose only side effects are peace of mind and rejuvenation. When you practice this ritual daily, very soon you’ll enjoy your tranquil moments in the spirit of feeding your needs and desires.

And if you are the restless type and can't quite keep still, then take up Tai chi, yoga and other active forms of meditation. This is good for your body and soul. These forms of exercise calm the body and mind to help new ideas flow freely. In this way the body and soul come into balance.

And for those who meditate as a spiritual practice, here are several suggestions on what you might say and do during the practice:

“I ask for the purest and brightest light and energy to be sent to me.” And in your mind’s eye see it entering your crown chakra. And color plays an important role. So see the energy as a bright golden white light. Or any other color you perceive as purest energy.

“I am connecting with my Higher Self. Tell me what I need to know. I’m sitting here and I’m ready.”

“Dear Spirit, place in me what I need.”

“Dear Spirit, give me wisdom to create what I need. Give me the peace that it has been accomplished and I’ll just sit here and I’ll be loved.”

When I ask for something, I always feel the love emanating within my heart center. And I feel this love growing bigger until it fills my entire body and flows out of my body. Visualization makes your connection with Spirit even more powerful. And listen to the messages that come to you either during or after meditation. Most messages may come to you in thought forms or a knowing.

I get many messages and solutions when I practice relaxing outdoors in nature. I ask the nature spirits to surround me and I ask for inspiration for my healing and creative work.

And when I am at home, I have a space in my bedroom that I dedicate for my meditation. Each day I take a few minutes to sit in this space and meditate by imagining myself wrapped in a cocoon of warm healing light. And I find that the calm I gain by being in this place becomes indispensable to me.

Here’s an intention for meditation and you could say this right before you meditate:

I meditate in whatever way feels most
comfortable and natural. I am mentally at ease
and fully connected to Spirit (my Inner Self)
I allow myself the freedom to quiet my mind and listen.

Experiment with this. And remember to have an open heart and an open mind so you can hear better the messages that come to you.

And more importantly, please take action on the guidance that you receive during or after meditation. You'll be amazed and surprised by the results.
